Walsall Football Club – Kids Cup 2016/2017

Monday 28th November 2016

Our school football team took part in the Walsall Football Club Kids Cup 2016/2017 yesterday morning.  They played 6 different schools on the brand new astro turf pitch at Bescot Stadium.  What a team they were! Out of the 6 matches they played they won two matches, drew two matches and lost two matches. The teams were very competitive and our team did not give up at any point.

They even had a chance to play with ‘Swifty’ for a little too.

A great morning had by all, well done Jarrad, Dawson, Charlie, Ellis, Oliver and Jack!

Friday 25th November 2016

This morning the children from ARP took part in a Boccia competition with Ryders Hayes, Oakwood and Jane Lane schools.

The children have been learning the rules and how to play Boccia in their P.E. lessons since September. In teams of 3, the children need to get their Boccia balls nearest to the Jack ball. This is a very tactical game where the children work together to try and beat the other team.

One of our teams reached the final and played really well to come second! Well done Zoe, Lana and Maisie!

Everyone played really well, well done to Zoe, Lana, Tayo, Jayvon, Damon, William, Alfie, Maisie, Charlie and Elliot!

Shelfield Dance Festival

Thursday 24th November 2016

Pupils from Years 3,4,5 and 6 took part in a dance festival at Shelfield Academy yesterday.  The children have been learning a new tap routine since starting Tap Dance Club in September.  They performed a routine to ‘Can’t stop the feeling’.

The Festival was a wonderful opportunity to see different styles of dancing from different primary and secondary schools.  To add to the show Shelfield had a mini showcase from their Music and Drama departments.

Well done to all the girls and boys who represented Rushall in a fantastic way, performance , behaviour and manners were impeccable! We are very proud of all of you!

We will be putting on a performance very soon for you to come and see our wonderful dance!

Indoor Athletics

Pupils in Years 5 and 6 took part in an Indoor Athletics Competition on Thursday 17th November 2016 at Shelfield Academy.  They worked together as a team to compete in a variety of both track and field events. After all 9 rounds, the team came an overall 3rd place which is a fantastic achievement for us.

Well done to Abbie, Emma, Phoebe, Lilly, Nevaeh, Georgia, Chloe, Faye, Jessica, Jack, Lewis, Dawson and Jarrad. We are very proud of you!

Cross Country – Week 2

Another fantastic week at the Cross Country competition.  The children from years 5 and 6 visited Cooper and Jordan last night to compete in Round 2 of the competition.  It was perfect weather for the Cross Country, lovely and wet and the ground was extremely muddy!

Well done to Jarrad, Ellis, Charlie, Jack, Chloe, Faye, Phoebe, Emma and Abbie!

Inter-school Cross Country

Pupils from year 5 and 6 took part in the Walsall inter-schools cross country running competition. Despite the cold weather conditions, we all ran just under a mile around the school field at Beacon Primary in Willenhall. Out of 150 pupils, we finished the run between 35th and 92nd place.

Congratulations to Emma, Abbie, Phoebe, Rory, Ellis, Hayden, Charlie, Faye and Jack. We are very proud of you!

Thank you to parents for showing your support.

If you would like to join Cross Country Club, it takes place on Wednesday lunchtimes. See Miss Rea for more details.
