Year 2’s Sports Day

Last week it was EYFS and KS1’s Sports Day, the sun was shinning and we were all very excited! To warm up we all did some exercises to “I like to move it”. Have a look at us having lots of fun.

We got into our teams (Blue,Orange, Red and Green) and our first race was the obstacle race; it was quite tricky with lots of different skills such as balancing, crawling and even bouncing on a Space Hopper!

On your marks, get set, go!!!

On Wednesday 21st June 2017, Year 1 alongside Year 2 and Early Years took part in Rushall Primary School’s annual KS1 Sports Day.

It was a fantastic and memorable morning. All of the children cheered for their classmates and put 100% into all of their races. Take a look at the pictures below to see some photographs of Years 1 & 2 taking part in the obstacle course.

All of the children had a certificate at the end of the day for taking part. Below are some photos of the whole school warm up with Miss Rea, Miss Mills, Mrs Bargh and Mrs Baker.

Black Country Schools Mini-Red Tennis Final

Our fabulous tennis team qualified for the Black Country Games Mini-Red Tennis Final on Tuesday 23rd May.  The team of four travelled to Tipton Sports Academy where the best teams in the area competed against each other.  Team Rushall were one of the teams to represent Walsall at the games and were the proud to be chosen to carry the Walsall flag in the opening ceremony.

Dominic, Grace, Riley and Maisy were outstanding all day, they had a full day of competitive matches where they did not once give up. The standard of tennis was extremely high and the children were amazing.

Overall Team Rushall came 6th on the day – a fantastic achievement for our first Black Country Games Final.

Years 5 and 6 Rounders

Our fabulous rounders team took part in the Walsall inter-schools rounders tournament at Shelfield Academy.

Team members:

Jarrad, Dawson, Faye, Georgia, Sky, Lily-Mae, Conor, Lewis, Jessica, Luke, Megan A and Jack.

During our PE lessons and rounders club, the children have been working hard to fine tune their batting and fielding skills.

Rushall V Caldmore – WON  – 5 rounders to 3

Rushall V Brownhills West – LOST  – 4 and a half rounders to 6

The results were tight, so it was decided to announce the overall winner based on the total number of rounders scored.

Well done to all the other schools involved and a big thank to our parents for supporting us!

Cross Country – Years 3 and 4

Thursday 24th May 2017

Before the half term break, a group of children from Years 3 and 4 went to Beacon Primary School to take part in the very first Cross Country race for their age group. The children had been inspired from the fantastic success we had with our Year 5 and 6 team earlier in the year.  The children ran nearly 1000 metres in the scorching sunshine. It was hot and very difficult but not one of the children gave up they kept on running and as it was some of their very first time of running such a distance they did so very well. There were about 50 children in each race. Of ‘Team Rushall’ Alfie L was our first finisher, finishing in 4th place and for the girls Faith S finished in 3rd Place.

We as a school are so very proud of each and every one of you for having a go and taking part.

Well done to Faith, Erin, Grace, Ella, Eleanor, Lacey, Eleanor, Alfie, Louie, Kheelan, Dominc, Riley, Alfie, George, Matthew and David.
