Cross Country Championships

A huge well done to Grace and Chloe for competing in the Black Country Primary Schools, Inter Area Cross Country Championships.  The girls were chosen as part of the top 20 fastest girls in Walsall to compete against the fastest girls in Wolverhampton and Dudley.

It was a beautiful sunny day at Tettenhall College, Wolverhampton. The course was a 1 mile run across fields, up hills and through woodland.  The girls were amazing, they supported each other throughout the race and finished fantastically.

Out of 60 girls, Grace came 33rd and Chloe came 38th. Well done girls! We are very proud of you.

National Dance Championships 2018

Our superstar key stage 2 tap dancers travelled to Stoke on Trent to take part in the UDOIT National Dance Championships 2018.

There were over 500 school pupils from all over the country who took part in the event held on Wednesday at Fenton Manor Sports Centre.  We were part of the ‘Primary Schools All Style Dance’ category.  The children represented Rushall amazingly, terrific tapping, brilliant behaviour and super sportsmanship.

There were 4 qualified judges who marked the children on choreography, performance and use of space. We came 5th place and received a lovely trophy for our Sports display and some amazing medals that all the children were able to take home with them.

Well done to all the children who took part, we are so, so proud of you!

Our tap dancers are Lola James, Evie Lloyd, Skye Herbert, Kiera Fox, Holly Clews, Dominic Appleby, Eleanor Mayo, Louisa Millard, Rowan Goodyear, Scarlett Smith, Michaela Yates, Lauren Mountford, Grace Sheahan, Taiah Gough-Sanders and Lilly Fiore.

Easter Holiday – Soccer Schools

Some of our children have been lucky enough to take part in different Soccer Schools over the Easter Holiday.

Sienna in Year 2, plays for Wyrley Juniors Under 8’s Panthers.  During the holiday she was lucky enough to watch an England Lionesses training session at St George’s Park conducted by new Lionesses manager Phil Neville. Later on in the week, along with the rest of her team, she attended the draw ceremony of the Under 17’s Euros at St George’s Park, attended by Gareth Southgate, Wayne Rooney and Alex Scott and they then took part in a mini tournament afterwards.

On Saturday 7th April some of our Rushall footballers were invited to attend a soccer school session at Walsall Football Club which was courtesy of WHG.

The children enjoyed playing fun football games organised by Walsall FC Community coaches on the 3G pitch before having lunch in the community room.  After lunch, they settled down in the stands watch Walsall V Bury, with Walsall taking away a victory after an own goal from Bury’s Adam Thompson in the 89th minute! Nail biting stuff!

Some of the children attended the extended soccer school that WHG offered at Walsall FC.  They were lucky enough to meet the first team during one of their training sessions too!

Thank you to WHG and Walsall FC from all of the footballers at Rushall.  What a fantastic time we all had!
